Mrs. Omega Fox, age 93, of Siler City, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, June 04, 2019. On October 4, 1925, Omega Othelia Paige Fox was born in Chatham County, NC and passed away on June 4, 2019. She was predeceased by: her loving husband, Glen Fox; her father, Joseph Climon Paige; her mother, Mattie Lee Johnson Paige; her brother, Clarence Mason; and one daughter, Jeannie Francie (Ed-deceased) Thomas.
Omega attended Chatham Training School in Siler City, NC. At an early age she joined Lambert Chapel Missionary Baptist Church where she served as Sunday School Secretary, Church Clerk, Sunday School Teacher, Missionary President, and WIC Leader. For Chatham High School, she served as secretary of the PTA and Membership Leader. She was a housewife and a homemaker for her family and volunteered in the community.
As a very engaging person, she enjoyed sitting around with the family, telling stories of her past, and sharing her experiences. Also, on occasion, she was know to tell very entertaining jokes or use her well-honed ability to imitate others to entertain her family and friends. Throughout her life, she never met a person she did not like or was not willing to help in any way she could. One of her skills the family always enjoyed was her ability to remember the favorite foods of family members and having it waiting when they visited.
Omega loved visiting the sick and shut-ins to lift their spirits and hope, trying new recipes, canning food, visiting her family and friends in person, and talking on the phone. She loved to garden, grow flowers, and to take a morning walk with her neighbors. A babysitter for many children in the community, she was truly loved and admired by all.
Her marriage with Glen was blessed with nine children. She is survived by: six sons, Lofus Talmage “LT”, Rynold Conway (JoeAnn), Glenn Jr. “Buck” (Gladys), Eddie Frank (Juanita), Henry Thomas, and Joe Climon Foxx (Geneva Lineberry); two daughters, Gwendolyn Baldwin and Cora Lee (Alonzo) Glover; fourteen grandchildren; Dwight (Lisa), Donald (Michelle) Foxx, Ronald (Jennifer), Tinnette (Stacy) Siler, Chanda Antonio) Allen, Britt (Renita) Foxx, Tina (Brian) Rankin, Jermaine (Pamela) Thomas, Christopher Foxx, Yvonne (Will) Lash, Lesley Foxx, Chadwick (Tina) Baldwin, Joy Staley and Jordan Foxx; great-grandchildren, Alexandria Foxx, Madison and Sophia Austin, Jeron and Jada Foxx, Justin Siler, Kailyn, Makenzi, and Aiden Allen; Kelsey and Emory Foxx, Amber Thomas, Marquez Melvin, Chinchez Rankin, Antonio (Brooke) Thomas and Julian Thomas, Melika Goodman, Whitney Eddins, Eugene Jeffries, Terell and Tyriese Risby; Avon and Aaron Foxx, Will Jr., Amber and Kaiden Lash; and Elle and V.
