Mrs. Ola Mae Tysor daughter of the late Abraham Lincolin Curtis and Minnie ether Striblin was born August 28, 1940. She departed this life on December 19, 2023 at her home surrounded by her family.
She received her education in Guilford and Randolph County School and graduated from Randolph High School.
She was employed with various jobs in her lifetime, but she retired early with from Mid-State Farm to become a caregiver to her husband until his death and later on her brother Harold until his death. She joined Thompson Chapel AME Zion Church in Goldston, North Carolina. Working on the Usher Board, a Deaconess and various other jobs until her health declined. Ola Mae was united in holy matrimony to the love of her life Bernard Wilson Tysor. She was a devoted wife, loving mother and the best grandmother to the love of her life her grandkids. Ola Mae was a fun loving person. She loved her family, church family, and friends. She loved traveling and family functions. Her favorite sports were fishing and chasing after Kender and making banana pudding for her boys.
Ola was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard Tysor; one daughter, Donna Renee; parents, Abraham and Minnie Tysor; three brothers, Donald, Melvin, and Harold Curtis; one brother- in-law, Alfred T. Tysor, two sisters-in-law Rosie Nell Gant, and Georgia Mae Curtis.
The precious and fond memories of Ola Mae Tysor will forever be cherished in our hearts. She leaves three sons, Bobby Tysor (Stella) of the home, Billy Tysor (Wanda) of Carrboro, NC, and Ricky Curtis (Eva) of Ramsuer; one daughter, Diana Matthews (Howard) of Ramsuer, NC; three sisters, Adele Hatchett of Climax, NC, Phyllis Curtis of High point, NC, Geraldine Headen (Murvin) of Goldston, NC; one sister-in-law, Willie Mae Tysor (Sanford); twelve grandchildren, and twenty two grandchild and a host of nieces and nephews
