Lacy Mae Williams was born July 5, 1936 in Chatham County, to the late Myrtle Cook and she departed this life on Saturday morning, May 30th at the Genesis nursing facility in SIler City, NC.
She was a member of First Missionary Baptist Church and attended until her health began to decline and was admitted to the nursing facility, where she remained until her untimely death.
Lacy was a hard worker and lived a very simple life. She enjoyed going to yard sales and frequenting thrift stores and consignment shops all across the county with her niece and others.
Lacy was preceded in death by her mother, Ms. Myrtle Cook, her only sister, Mrs. Martha Gray and niece, Melanie Gray. She leaves to mourn, her niece, Kathy Ross, Burlington, NC; two nephews, Carlton Brooks (Sandra) Graham, NC; Rev. Barry Gray (Mildred) Siler City, NC and a host of great nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends. Lacy also had a very special childhood friend that was her true ride or die partner, Ms. Claudia (Tookie) Graves of Siler City, NC.
