Mrs. Ollie Elizabeth Ann Currie Taylor passed away peacefully on April 24, 2023, at Hospice of the Piedmont of Randolph in Asheboro, NC. She was born to the late Walter and Lucille Williams Currie on November 2, 1946, in Chatham County, North Carolina.
At an early age, Ollie joined Holy Trinity United Holy Church where she served on the usher board and sang in the Young Adult Choir. She attended Chatham High School. Ollie was united in holy matrimony to the late George Taylor on December 22, 1962, and to this union four children were born; three lovely girls, Darlene, Sherry, and Janet; and one handsome son, Fredrick.
Ollie was self-employed with Unique Beauty Salon as a cosmetologist in the local area where she worked for over 30 years until her health began to decline. During this time, she established lifelong friends and clients. Ollie enjoyed attending hair shows, traveling, spending time with family and friends, shopping, finding new restaurants, and especially being in the company of her sisters.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and brothers James, Raeford, and Jimmy Lawrence.
She leaves to cherish her memories: Darlene McGee (Calvin) of Angier, NC, Sherry Alston (Chris), Janet Glover (Morris), and Fredrick Taylor all of Siler City, NC; seven grandchildren; Alicia Rogers (Tony), Natasha Thyng, Millison Newby, Tamara McGee, Iesha Alston, Dashawn Alston, and Darrius Taylor; six great-grandchildren; Imare Goldston, Ayden Jordan, Kinley Thyng, Camden Rogers, Zander Rogers, and Kayson Thyng; two sisters, Doris Johnson, and Diane Alston (Ike) and one brother, Samuel Currie (Shannon), all of Siler City, NC and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and friends.
