Mrs. Doretha Matthews

Obituary 

Doretha S. Matthews was born to the late Howard T. Scotton, Sr. and Queen Scotton on March 28,1949. She departed this life May10, 2021 at the Laurels of Chatham. 

She was the fifth of ten children. Doretha was preceded in death by Willie James Scotton, Howard Scotton, Jr., Clyde Scotton Sr., Donald Scotton and Bertha Person. 

Those left to cherish her memories are: her husband, William Matthews; three sons, Christopher N. Matthews, Phillip Matthews and Charlton Matthews; sixteen grandchildren; nine great-grand children; three brothers, Rev. David Scotton (Jennifer), Norman Scotton (Paulette) and Tommy L. Scotton; a special niece, Wendy Scotton; a special nephew, Pastor Clyde E .Scotton, Jr.(Veronica); and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
