Obituary
CONNIE BLAKE VANCE went to be with the Lord on September 8, 2020. She was the youngest child of the late Jimmie Lou and Dale Blake. Connie graduated from Douglas Byrd High School. She had two children and two grandchildren.
She owned her own cleaning business for many years. Later in life, she enjoyed being home and spending time with her family.
She professed her faith with Jesus Christ and we know that she is now in heaven with her mother and father. She loved the Lord. She was preceded in death by a wonderful friend, Wanda Miles and a special niece, Jessica McPhaul. Left to cherish her loving memories: her two children, Angela Minnick and Rebecca Smith; her two grandchildren, Antonnio Gilmore (Alfred Evans, Jr.) and Raymond Knotts; three siblings, Dale Blake, Ricky Blake (Debbie Blake) amd Wanda Roy; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
You will always have a special place in my heart. I've learned so many things from you,
Because you were so smart. I remember when I was young And you would help me do art;
Now I've gotten older
And it's time for a new start. I know you're watching over me right now,
Just give me a couple of years
And I'll make you proud. I know I'm not alone, I can just look up in the clouds... I'll see you looking at me with a great, big smile!
Love, Raymond
God looked around His garden
And found an empty space. Then He looked down upon this earth
And saw your tired face. He put His arms around you
And lifted you to rest. God's garden must be beautiful, He only takes the best.
Love You Nana
