OBITUARY

Sylvia Annette Smith Fox, age 64 of 1302 Canterbury Drive, Siler City, North Carolina transitioned from this temporary home to her eternal home on Friday, February 11, 2022, at UNC Hospital, Hillsboro, North Carolina.

Annette was born to the late Elizabeth N. Smith on August 12, 1957, in Siler City, North Carolina. She was preceded in death by both of her parents and two brothers, Gary Steven Smith, and Johnny Eugene Smith.

Annette cherished the years spent living in the homes of her late uncles and aunties, James and Bernice Newby, John and Annie Newby.

She attended Chatham High School, and Jordan Matthews High School here in Siler City, North Carolina. Annette was employed at Hadley Peoples for several years. She was also employed at Walmart, Siler City and Village Lake End, Siler City.

At an early age Annette attended Holy Trinity United Holy Church and served as an Usher. She was also a member of the Junior Church where she participated in many of its programs and activities. She was a lover of all genres of Gospel music, but especially older songs such as “Touch the Hem of His Garment” by the late Sam Cooke.

She leaves to celebrate her life and cherish her memories:  her husband, James Junior Fox, two sons, James Smith (Erica), Mebane, North Carolina, Michael Smith (Jennifer), Julian, North Carolina, three grandchildren whom she adored, Hailey, Amilliana, and Rashaun. Three stepchildren, Daphne Fox, Jamie Fox, Jimmy Farris. Three sisters; Judy Rodriguez (Gregorio), Deborah Alston, and Michelle Smith of Siler City, North Carolina; brothers, Donald Smith (Lisa), and Michael Smith (Ivey) of Siler City, North Carolina and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
