He was born to Fred and Margaret Hanner on April 24, 1951. Myron was the second oldest of five boys born to this union. While growing up as a child, Myron loved spending time and getting into mischief with his brothers.

He attended JS Waters School in Goldston NC until its desegregation in 1968. During his high school years at JS Waters, he enjoyed playing on the basketball team and was remembered for his shooting ability and love of the game. He proudly graduated in early June 1969.

Myron met Ms. Johnnie Mae McIntosh while attending high school. They later married and settled down in Bear Creek, NC to start a family. Together they had three loving daughters. After marrying, Myron accepted employment at Pamona Pipe Company in Goldston, NC. During this time, he also served on the board for Head Start. After many years at Pamona Pipe, the company was relocated and Myron began working for Mountaire Farms. Needing a new adventure, he attended truck driving school in Lexington NC and eventually began working for Darrell Andrews Trucking,
