Larry "Donnell" Goins, son of the late Dewey Vestal Goins and Ardelia Brower Goins, was born June 1, 1953, in Chatham County. He entered into eternal rest Tuesday, November 16, 2021, at Longleaf Neuro-Medical Center in Wilson, North Carolina.
At an early age, he joined Lambert Chapel Missionary Baptist Church. His love for Christian fellowship extended to a ministry in Asheboro, N.Cas well as Emmanuel Fellowship in Siler City, N.C. After fellowship with extended ministries, he returned to his foundation at Lambert Chapel Missionary Baptist Church. His family and friends will always remember one of his favorite songs: ""There's a Lilly In the Valley, Found it to be Bright as the Morning Star". In the Victorian language of flowers, Lilly of the Valley means "Return of Happiness". No more suffering or pain but peace and tranquility in the presence of the Lord!
Throughout his life, he showed love to family members and friends by his many acts of kindness (providing transportation, picking up food, gardening, detailing cars, and simply enjoying the love of good music and fellowship).
He was preceded in death by his father Dewey V. Goins and mother Ardelia B. Goins, and sister Annie Goins.
He leaves to cherish his memories: daughter Tiffany; granddaughters, Tatiana and Paris; grandson Aaron; sisters, Barbara Shamburger, Stella Brown (Clyde), Shirley Totten, and Judy Headen (John); brother, James Goins (Jennifer); and a host of many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
