Jimmy James Goldston Jr. was the first born child to the late Jimmy James Goldston Sr. and Lucille Brooks Goldston, on April 22, 1956 in Chatham County.
Jimmy attended schools in Siler City, North Carolina. He graduated from Jordan Matthews High School in 1974. He later attended Central Carolina Community College. Jimmy worked at Boling & Chair until it closed, he also drove a school bus for Jordan Matthews, and a van for Chatham Transit for many years. Jimmy attended Glover’s Grove A.M.E. Zion Church from a child. The first group he played for was The Soulful 7s. Jimmy was gifted with the talent of playing a guitar. He played for many groups such as Glover’s Grove, The Traveling Sons, Clouds of Joy, Margaret Chapel of Staley and others.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents Jimmy and Lucille Goldston; and one sister Cassie Diane Goldston.
He leaves to cherish his memories; one son, Rashad Goldston (Shantay), and one daughter LaShonda Goldston both of Charlotte, NC; two sisters Cynthia Goldston, Priscilla Bynum (Tony) of Siler City, NC; one brother Elder Paul Goldston (Pastor Jackie); three uncles Monroe Goldston, James Brooks, Vernon Brooks (Helen); one Aunt Veonia Alston (Grady); one great Aunt Laula Goldston; and one special cousin Waddel Goldston.
