Obituary
Mr. George Thomas Taylor, age 77 of 892 Palmers Chapel Church Road, Siler City, NC passed on Tuesday, December 28, 2021, at his residence.
He was born to the late Deborah Palmer Taylor on May 30, 1944, in Chatham County, NC.
At a young age, George attended Palmers Chapel Church and later joined Holy Trinity United Holy Church. He attended Chatham High School. George was united in holy matrimony to Ollie Currie Taylor on December 22, 1962. To this union four children were born; three beautiful girls, Darlene, Sherry, and Janet; and one handsome son, Fredrick.
George began his career as a truck driver very early in life and worked tirelessly for over 50 years with the Andrews Trucking family until his retirement in 2019. When he wasn't on the road doing what he loved most, he was sure to provide for his family making sure they took family vacations to create many memories together. You could also count on him to be home doing work in his yard, spending time with his trucking buddies at the local convenience store, and he would always be sure to tell his children and grandchildren, "here-take a little change and put this in your pocket." If you knew George "Night Train" Taylor, you knew he was passionate about his career on the road as a truck driver.
His mother, Deborah Taylor, preceded him in death.
He leaves to cherish his memories: wife, Ollie Taylor of the home, Darlene McGee (Calvin) of Angier, NC, Sherry Alston (Chris), Janet Glover (Morris), and Fredrick Taylor (Marian) all of Siler City, NC; seven grandchildren; Alicia Rogers (Tony), Natasha Thyng, Millison Newby, Tamara McGee, lesha Alston, Dashawn Alston, and Darrius Taylor; five great-grandchildren; Imare Gold ston, Ayden Jordan, Kinley Thyng, Camden Rogers, and Zander Rogers; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and friends.
