The Obituary
Edward Levon Harris affectionately known as Dickie son of the late Edward and Mary Harris was born June 27, 1952 in Asheboro, North Carolina. Dickie departed life from this side on Sunday February 28, 2021 while at his earthly home in Siler City, North Carolina.
Dickie received his education from the Alamance County Public School System. In 1973 he joined the US Army where he served his Country. He worked various of jobs; his primary Job was with The North Carolina Department of Transportation.
On May 4, 1974 he married the love of his life Harriet Headen, God blessed this union with three Children 1 daughter and 2 sons.
Dickie was a lover of life. He was loved by so many nieces, nephews and extended family. He was also affectionately known as a Godfather to some. His hobbies were fishing, gardening, listening to Gospel Music, attending church services with family,
helping senior and he cherished life and people in general. Dickie will always be remembered for his outgoing personality; He never met a stranger.
Dickie was preceded in death by his father Edward Harris and his mother Mary Tinnin Harris, and 1 sister Sylvia Harris Hadley (John).
Precious memories will forever remain with his wife of 47 years Harriet Harris of Siler City, North Carolina; two sons, Edward White of Greensboro, North Carolina, Geoffrey Harris (Princess) Fuquay Varina, North Carolina, one daughter Ebony Harris (Jerome) of Siler City, NC; two sisters Alice Mcknight (James) of Louisburg, North Carolina; Mary Patterson of Raleigh, NC; 1 aunt of Graham, NC Annie Trollinger; 8 grandchildren Micah Vines-Harris, Makai Vines-Harris, Messiah Vines-Harris, Zariyah Green, Sadessa Green, Jerron Green and Jerome Green.
