Obituary 

Mother Maggie Elease Baines, the daughter of the late Alex and Channie Newby, departed this life from labor to reward on December 5, 2020 surrounded by her loving family. She was educated at Chatham County Schools.

Mother Maggie was a long time member of Holy Trinity United Holy Church where she received Jesus Christ at an early age. She was active in the church and served faithfully until her health declined and prevented her from participating. She was a member of the Senior Choir, served on the Mother's Board, the YPHA and Unions. Mother Baines also oversaw the operation of the church kitchen. She was employed with Chatham County Schools for twenty-five years. She was a loving mother and sister.

Mother Maggie was united on November 26, 1958 in holy matrimony to the late Dock Ervin Baines for 50 years before he preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by two sons, Sterling and Merle. 

She leaves to cherish her life and her loving memories: one daughter, Brenda Kay Blade (Cedric) of Burlington, NC; three sons, Ervin Baines of Burlington, NC, Ellis Baines of Siler City, NC and Eric Baines of Charlotte, NC; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
