Margie Marie Foushee

Margie Marie Foushee was born to the late Claude and Vera Foushee on December 22, 1948 in Chatham County. She departed this earthly life on Saturday, March 30, 2024 at her home in Siler City.

Margie received her education from the Chatham county School System after which she headed to Washington, DC working at the DC Printing Company while earning her Bachler Degree at Maryland University. After 15 years, she started a new job with AT&T then transferring to North Carolina. She later retired from UNC Hospital in Business Administration.

Margie proudly served in many capacities while a faithful member of Jordan Grove AME Zion Church. She served as the financial secretary, Vacation Bible School Coordinator, Steward Board member, Lay Council member, Sunday School Superintendent, Life member of the Women’s Home & Overseas Missionary Society and former Director of Christian Education. She was also a Conference Delegate and Director of Vacation Bible School for the Durham District.

Although a quiet person, she loved her family, visited often and made sure we attended family gatherings. She enjoyed cooking especially desserts, traveling when she had a moment and working around the house.

Margie was proceeded in death by her father, Claude Foushee, Sr.; mother, Vera Mae Brooks; sister, Annie Ruth Gales; two brothers, Claude Foushee, Jr., and Robert Louis Foushee; two nephews, Ronnie Neal Foushee, and Antonio William Gales.

Margie leaves to cherish her memory; three nieces, Jean Alette Foushee Tyson, Relecia Foushee Ellerbe, Robin Foushee Stephens; one nephew, Darrell Philip Foushee; one aunt, Swannie Brooks Durant; two sisters-in-law, Agnes Cheek Foushee, and Barbara Foushee Shamburger; one special cousin; Clyde Lincoln Brown, and a host of Great nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
