LaShanda Monique Lane

Ms. LaShanda Monique Lane was born in Orange County to the late Linda M Siler and late Leo W Lane on April 14, 1970. She entered her eternal rest at UNC Hospitals-Hillsborough on November 15, 2023.

Shanda was preceded in death by her three brothers, Leo Stepvohn Lane, Diffie Grayling William Lane, and Bruce Lane; loving husband, John Smith. 

She was a member of First Missionary Baptist Church. Shanda was a graduate of Jordan-Matthews High School in Siler City, NC. She also attended NC State University in Raleigh, NC. Shanda received various certifications throughout her career.

Shanda loved animals especially horses and dogs. She also enjoyed traveling. Shanda was a true entrepreneur with interests in real estate, construction, and accounting. She was part owner of Lane-Riffe Construction, LLC. Shanda also operated Siler’s Accounting and Bookkeeping.

Those she leave to cherish her precious memory are: a loving, devoted cousin, DéBorah (DeeDee) Moffitt; sister, LaDoné Johnson; five uncles, Walter (Poley) Moffitt, Ted Lane, Dalton (Flip) Moffitt, Ulous Lane, and Thomas (Darise) Wiley; three aunts, Camilla Andrews, Audrey Lane, and Juanita (Kim Baby) Wiley; five nieces and two nephews; 16 great nieces and nephews; four godchildren,
Donovan Woods, Whitney Jones, Michayla McNeill, and Kalli Smith; fiancé, Xavier Walker; loyal friend, Vickie Snider; close cousins, Laura Moffitt-Smith and Tameika Watson; special friend, Jeremy; Godmother Rena Lowe, and a host of relatives and friends.
