Obituary
“For I am ready to be offered and the time of
departure is at hand. I have fought a good fight,
I have kept the faith”. 11 Timothy 6-7
Hanzel Meshell Bynum was born on January 21, 1955. He was the fourth
child born to the late George and Allie Mae Bynum in Bonlee, NC. We know
his will was done when God called him home on Thursday, August 23, 2019,
at his residence in Greensboro, NC.
He graduated from Chatham Central High School in 1973. After graduation
he moved to Greensboro, NC. He joined Robets Chapel at an early age and after relocating he attended other area churches.
Meshell, as he was known by family and friends
was a very quiet man of few words and was very much a private person quite
happy and content with his own company and his own way of life. Meshell
loved sports, football and basketball, his favorite basketball team was
the Los Angeles Lakers.
His memory will be cherished by his son Nikia Peoples, Siler City, NC, brother,
George Lee Bynum, Goldston (Gay), sisters Estella Glover (Ronnie), New York,
Diana Greene, Cary, NC and Collette Williams of the home, Bonlee. Special
nephews and nieces were Amanda, Erskine, Denise, Craig and Chad.
Great nephews and nieces, Jonah, Austin, Laylah and Ethan and a host of
other relatives and friends whom he loved dearly.
Rest in peace my father and our brother!
