Shelton "Big Daddy" Williams, Sr.

Mr. Shelton Williams, Sr.,77, departed this life peacefully on, Thursday, December 26, 2019. On September 11, 1942, Shelton was born to the late Inez Williams and Maylord Strickland in Alamance County.

He was educated in the Chatham County School System and graduated from Chatham High School i 1960. He entered into the U.S. Air Force in 1964 and was Honorably discharged in 1967.

Shelton was married to May Ann Fox and to this union two children were born, who will miss him greatly.

He joined Holy Trinity Holiness Church at an early age and later he joined his family at Lambert Chapel Baptist Church. He served on the Stewart Board, was a member of the Male Chorus, the Gospel Choir, the Spiritual Harmonizers and was a faithful member until his declining health didn't permit.

Shelton was preceded in death by his mother, Inez Williams, his father, Maylord Strickland, two sisters and two brothers.

He leaves to cherish his memory: a loving wife, Mary, of fifty years; two children, Shelton R. Williams, Jr. of Liberty, NC and Bryan Keith Williams (Erica) of Greensboro, NC; four grandchildren, Mariah, Jeremiah, Morris "Scooter" (Melita) and Sanesha (Brandon); his nieces and nephews who called him "Big Daddy"; two sisters; two brothers; three brothers-in-law; four sisters-in-law; and a host of other relatives and friends.
