Robert Sutton was born to the late Elma Mae Sutton Headen and the late BJ Headen on August 1st, 1950 in Siler City, NC. He was a long-time resident of the Siler City area.
Robert lived a simple life. He worked many years in poultry, driving dump trucks and bobcats, and established multiple self-made business. He was proceeded in death by his parents, son— Marcus Craven, and two brothers—Otis and Arthur Lee Sutton.
Robert leaves to cherish his memory, Terrie Dark (fiancé of the home); three grandchildren: Kadejah Miles, Kenya Craven, Trent Brewer Jr. (Bistit’); one great grandson Kyrie Wallace; Aunt Mary Alice Peoples. one daughter in law Tiawnna Craven; two nieces: Sylvia Walker and Connie (Johnnie) Alford; three nephews: Dexter Sutton, Adrian Sutton, and Otis Sutton Jr. .
Robert was loyal, supportive and loving to those dear to him. He wanted everyone to be treated fair and equal. Robert was a strong, independent man, that enjoyed participating in a good card game. He always wanted to do things for himself and was a fighter all his life. Robert was a consistent provider for his family and those whom he loved. He always made sure that his family was never in need, and often provided things that they wanted. Robert loved spending quality time with his family. However, when God saw it pleasing to give Robert peace and rest from all his hurt, pain, and suffering, He called him home.
I’M FREE
Don’t grieve for me, for now I’m free.
I’m following the path God laid for me.
I took His hand when I heard Him call,
I turned my back and left it all.
I could not stay another day,
To laugh, to love, to work or play.
Tasks left undone must stay that way.
I found that place at the close of day.
If my parting has left a void,
Then fill it with remembered joy.
A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss,
Ah yes, these things I too will miss.
Be not burdened with times of sorrow.
I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow.
My life’s been full, I’ve savored much.
Good friends, good times,
A loved one’s touch.
Perhaps my time seemed all too brief.
Don’t lengthen it now with undue grief.
Lift up your heart and share with me…
God wanted me now,
He set me free.
