Raymond Lewis Alston

Our beloved, Raymond Lewis Alston, who departed this life on Tuesday, November 12, 2019, was on April 25, 1944. He was the second born of five children to the late Roland and Evelyn Hanner Alston. 

Raymond was a native of Bear Creek, North Carolina and attended classes in the Chatham County School System. He graduated from J.S. Waters High School in June of 1962. He worked tirelessly in the poultry industry for more than five decades. 

He married Georgia Mae Alston, who preceded him in death in March of 1979. To that union, they were blessed with two daughters and one-son. On February 15, 1982, Raymond married Ella Dark, and to the union one son was born.

He leaves to cherish his memories a devoted wife, Ella Alston and two grandsons of the home, Craig Johnson and Shawn Alston; one daughter, Nakea Alston of Durham, NC; two sons, Cedric Alston of Durham, NC and Danual Alston of Cary, NC; one stepson, Shawn Dark (Deceased); eight grandchildren, Jessica Headen, Brianna Alston, Brandi Alston,  Jalen Alston, Angel Alston, DaKari Alston, Latrell Alston and, Brooklyn; one great grandchild.

Raymond is also survived by four siblings, Cecil Alston (Phyllis) of Siler City, NC and Fredrick Murdock (Delma) of Greensboro, NC and Elaine Marsh of Goldston, NC and Ella Mae Green (Tim) of SIler Ciy, NC; one special relative, Barbara McQueen. He was also preceded in death by six siblings, Brenda Reives, MacArthur Alston, Iree Alston, Niles Murdock, Larry Murdock and Wanda Totten. His memories will also live on in the hearts of a host nieces, nephews, loving relatives and friends.
