OBITUARY
MR. LEWIS JEROME THOMPSON, son of the late Jasper (Jack)
Thompson and Vonell Reaves Thompson was born in Chatham County on
December 09, 1957. He departed this life on Tuesday, January 7, 2020 at
UNC Memorial Hospital in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.
Lewis attended JS Waters in Goldston, North Carolina. He was self
employed in lawn services as well as he spent several years employed in
the brick mason industry.
Lewis attended his home church at Robert’s Chapel Missionary Baptist
Church in Goldston, NC. He also attended Macedonia AME Zion Church
with his wife Erma Reaves Thompson.
Lewis was a FUN loving person, he loved his family, and friends. He
worked hard and was always willing to lend a helping hand. He never met a
stranger and would give you the shirt off his back. He was always a Happy
person and would go out of his way to make others happy.
Lewis could be found daily visiting his Dear Aunt Inez, who is 101
years old. Giving was his service. He is particularly known for helping
family and friends and those in the community.
Lewis was preceded in death by his parents, Jasper (Jack) and Vonell
Thompson, his older brother Lindbergh Thompson (Karen) and the love of
his life Mrs. Erma Reaves Thompson.
The precious and fond memories of Lewis Jerome Thompson will
forever be cherished in the hearts and souls of his daughter Asia
Murchison of Cameron, NC, his son Chris Perry of Shreveport, Louisiana 7
Grandchildren, Elijah Mathews, Jordan, Cassia, Aaliyah,Caden, Joseph,
and Cameron Perry, brothers JC Thompson(Willia), Eddie Thompson,
Sisters: Shelby Cructhfield, Bertha Brooks(Jesse), Oma Chalmers (Make
Peace, Jr. ) Vanessa Totten, a special Aunt Inez Tysor, a host of nieces,
nephews and other relatives and friends whom he loved dearly.
